This is a Konica Minolta IU211C cyan imaging drum, which you may also know as a photoconductor unit. The IU211C drum unit is used to transfer the toner powder from the cartridge, heat it up and then print it on to the page in your chosen design. This is then passed over to the fuser unit to seal it on to the page and give it a smooth finish. The drum can process up to 55,000 pages in its life cycle so you won't need to replace it as often as your toners but to keep everything running smoothly you will need to swap it over when the printer notifies you. The drum is packaged and sealed safely so it can be stored for up to six months, if you don't need it right away, without its performance being affected.
